Boom-bang-a-bang sounds more like they could VW to that. I'm hoping it's not a plot to start eliminating via music choices. Maybe Ed needs to be dancing to 'All I need is a miracle"

Re: Which Dance this week 2016
Zoe was Viennese waltzing round the floor when boom-bang-a-bang came on the juke box - so I think this is probably the correct one - good VW rhythm.
Didn't like the sound of C laudia and AJ's track on the juke box - strange for a Fox Trot, sounded quite fast. I do hope they can pull this one off and that it looks like a Fox Trot and not a freestyle n umber. The two rumbas should be interesting.............
I am overjoyed that the Sweet have made it onto SCD!!!!! Love Ballroom Blitz but never in a million years imagined it would be used in ballroom dancing - would make a good Tango as well as a quickstep

I love this track too! We do it in body combat class sometimes when we're mixing in some old tracks- it's super fast and fun, I love it!mauveangel09 wrote:I am overjoyed that the Sweet have made it onto SCD!!!!! Another fan of Ballroom Blitz ("Love Is Like Oxygen" is the other Sweet song I really like - not that it's in any way usable for a Strictly dance!) and non-fan of Claudia's Foxtrot track - thought it was going to be used for a Latin dance when they played it on ITT.

Not delerious about most of this weeks offerings. "Shout" is hardly Andre Rieu's or Johann Strauss's idea of Vienna's golden era and I despair at who chooses these things. Old-fashionme, what me? .............You bet.

It's not Shout. It's Boom-bang-a-bang. Not that it's any better...

The tempo and time signature is spot on for a VW, but it's a LooLoo song...

The question is what silly theme will they have to go with Boom-Banga-Bang. Just had a flash of Baldrick saying his war poem in the trenches 'Boom, boom, boom boom boom, boom...........(Blackadder) 'Let me guess Baldrick....Boom?'

I love that she's "LooLoo" lol Quite like some of her songs, but Strictly LooLoo was INSUFFERABLE.

Ed and Katya getting the short end of the stick again.
Pretty good song again for Danny and Oti.
They have to change the time signature for Ore and Jo's waltz...
Anastacia's QS is more like a Foxtrot in tempo? No?

Re: Which Dance This Week 2016
I love the Gotan Project so really pleased to see anything of theirs, although 'Lola' for me it's more of a slower A.Tango. Who knows. An ton's boxing clever. Hopefully it will give Lesley another week
I don't mind 'Young Hearts' as a Samba and live in hope of seeing the old Samba voltas, runs, rolls and my favourite bachicardas (probably spelt that wrong).
I like the two jive songs although both have been used many times.
I'm fed up of cringing, ultra slow, frankly boring Rumbas and will be putting the kettle on when they come on. Both songs seem very slow to me.
Greg's music doesn't sound like any dance music to me. What a stitch up.
I wouldn't be surprised if The Judge was dressed up as Benny Hill blowing his bugle.
What they'll dress Ed up in this week is anybody's guess. That tunes not my first thought for the Hollywood driven A Smooth. Even the rhythm is ploddy.
Anastasia might just cling on in with that Frank Sinatra number if she can nail her routine

I love that the next instalment of the Ore-Danny rivalry is a battle of the Whitney covers!
Lesley's music is getting me excited for her Tango.
Thumbs up for 'Happy Feet' (although I feel like I'm seeing too many Charlestons for my liking).
'Amarillo'? Ridiculous! I thought they'd have a break from the comedy stuff this week and give Ed and elegant and charming Ballroom number.
Nat being clever by getting all the party dances out the way leaving a string of Ballrooms....

My thoughts too CD. Hope he can pull off a good Cha-Cha. I think Ed, The Judge, and maybe Greg, are in a tricky position this week.

I still suspect Anastacia might be there, and voted off this time. Unless of course, it's Gorka replacing Brendan for a week then I suspect Sid will register very many email accounts with BBC and... you know what he'll do.
Thing is, the only way for Greg is to NOT be in the bottom two from the audience votes. That's the only way. Thus far, I can't see his hips going anywhere but remaining square. Sorry, Greg fans...

You're right guys, was getting ahead of myself there!
I mean I obviously want Brenda to get better ASAP but an unexpected Gorka treat on Saturday wouldn't be the worst thing in the world

Re: Which Dance this week 2016
I'm not feeling enthusiastic about some of the music this week - Some seem to be getting consistently good music (Laura, Daisy, Lesley) others are being stitched up a bit - Ed and Katya this week with 'Amarillo' for example - I'm happy they are giving him a ballroom dance but what sort of rhythm is this? More like a march time! Why can't Ed have a smooth Sinatra or a classic dance track? Feel like we will see the Judge cavorting in yet another themed dance and G reg will definitely have to rely on viewer votes with that music and a cha cha to boot!!
I agree that we are seeing too many Charlestons at this early stage and too many jives for me as well. I know I sound grumpy so on the plus side - really like Candi Staton for a samba - it has a great bounce beat and even though they leave me cold (sorry C laudia and AJ fans) I'm sure they will really do it justice. Love the Gotan Project and 'Always on my Mind' is a good crowd pleaser along with the two jive tracks. Anastacia may also do ok with the Sinatra track.
