Thanks as ever for this B4- I think it's the most revealing stats we have- clearly shows the mini league going on at the bottom.
How many weeks till Blackpool? scratch

flower You're welcome allsewn  flower
Just keep an eye on my counting, it can be a bit creative at times.

Blackpool is week 9 according to the Dark Side. Two more dancers to go before then?

Fascinating stuff....

Didn't realise that Ashley is preferred by the Judges and is now 6 points ahead of Faye. But I am not a judge and I infinitely prefer Faye (particularly Sat's dances - that Charleston really failed to light my fire whereas the Fosse-tastic routine had me in a state of fizz...)

So yes, three groups - the two ringers at the top; the four non-dancers fighting it out at the bottom, Danny, Stacey and Joe vying for the big league.

And then there is Charles, out on his own betwixt the lower hitters and the aspirers...

Which I think sums him up. On his first week's performance I had him in the aspirer's group, but he never really got going until the street dance last week. I think he has natural rythm and musicality but he doesn't have body discipline (despite his pecs and six pack). Street dance doesn't put you in unnatural positions (ball room) or demand you place your feet and legs in a very specific way (both ballroom and latin). In that way I identify with him. I love dancing so very much and do it all the time wherever I am (especially in front of the cctv camera between the kitchen and reception at work....) and have good rythym and musicality - but follow a choreographed routine and throw myself into funny angles? I think I would be totally and utterly rubbish, despite having Aljaz as a partner (in Strictly Goes To a Parallel Universe...). So I think that Charles would be great in the clubs or at a party and everyone would be wowed, but he just can't get the hang of pointing his feet/straightening his legs/holding his frame etc etc. Not that he is flat footed, I think he just dances instinctively and not to order, so his feet will point when his body feels the music carries them there and not when it doesn't. So not necessarily the whole way through a jive, for example. Also, it has to be said - Karen. Charles did amazingly with someone else's choreography and markedly less so with Karen's. Perhaps she works against that instinctivenesss rather than with it? Also, she has never been the most outstanding choreographer on Strictly as far as I am concerned...

I would have liked to have seen Luba have a partner this year and Karen sit on the benches. Luba's already choreographed some of the pro dances over the last 2 years. It would be intriguing to see what she'd come up with for a contestant

No thanks. An.ton brings his own charm and character to the show which not every professional dancer has. In any case who will get dumped with the perrenial 50+ no-hoper?

I'm guessing Pasha will start to fall into the category after having this glory year as a sweetener. Suspect

I can't see it and he is not the same age as An.ton - quite far from it. An.ton is 52 whilst Pasha is 38.

Possibly, but I think Robin was being driven down the 'Strictly Guardian of Lost Causes' line toward the end, despite his age. After An ton, Pasha's the oldest at 38. When the powers that be choose his partner, is it an age thing, or a no hoper situation? Maybe having a partner that isn't likely to be in for too many weeks, suits An ton's busy lifestyle? I wonder if Debbie last year would have got so far partnered with An ton?

I can't see P asha being pushed down that route yet. He has had a couple of duff years so even though he is with super ringer this year, I don't begrudge him it - he was due a good partner more than some of the other male pros. People always mention A nton and the no- hopers but remember in between them he has also had his fair share of good partners too - regularly reaching Blackpool, reaching the final a couple of years ago and I think he made the quarters a couple of times too but a really good point about Debbeh B4P - I don't think anyone expected her to do as well as she did and there is no doubt that once he realized she had it in her, Gio pushed her in a way that A nton would not have done and she responded well to that whereas others would not have done - theirs was an inspired pairing by Strictly Towers, I have to say.

Diamonds - good analysis of Karen and Charles - they are an interesting pair as couples don't usually pull back from two DO experiences - but we'll see.

On paper, it does all look a bit predictable at the top this year, in a way (that despite Alexandra Burke's inclusion) that it didn't feel last year to me. I wonder if the BBC realized that by asking on not one but two equally matched female ringers - they would almost be creating a 'front row lock out' (forgive the motor racing pun) in terms of any poor unfortunates happening to be up against either Faye or Ashley in a DO further down the line - and then put Joe and his hordes of followers into the mix and you have what looks on paper to be only one place going begging in the final...……...but...……. who knows? Things can always be upset on SCD particularly as the contestants become an ever decreasing circle - people might be so busy voting to keep in people like Stacey and Danny that things might change at the top - sometimes there is not enough space for too many ringers in the Final. I think like someone has said on another thread - won't it be intriguing to watch the judges if they ended up with a DO between Ashley and Faye or one of Ashley or Faye against Joe? (the only way that he might exit in my opinion)…………...Fasten your seatbelts, although I agree at the moment the fight is at the lower end of the board...……………... Very Happy

Who knows? This series could be a catalyst. The likelihood is that it will be a shoot-out between the ringers. If that ends up being the case will those that select the celebs be more careful about ringers in the future? I'd love to think so but I cannot see it.

This is so intriguing! Ashley pulling away from Faye now..

Joe and Stace still at the top of the heel-nipping non-ringers, but Danny has been short changed whilst Joe has been given an extra fiver in change, so if you balance things up with two extra points each week for Danny and take away two over-marked points each week for Joe then... the circumference of the glitterball is 42kgs... Someone else may have to do the actual maths for that scenario!

Lauren looking like she might be easing away from the other two -I am so hoping her j word is properly taking off and she is on board the bus which is fully fuelled and um.... sorry, lost the thread with that simile :-( What I mean is, I hope she overtakes Stace n Joe and becomes the chief heel-nipper. I am now totally Afor her and I plan for her to lift the glitterball.
