Zoe Ball to present "Takes Two"
If our dear the Goddess Claudi all hail her name has to leave us, I can think of no one better than Zoe Ball to take over. She may not quite have She who I have a girly crush on's scatty wit but she's bubbly, knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about the show. A good choice!
PS And of course congrats to the Goddess on the new baby. Aww! Cute.

True, but not so easy on the eye as Ms Ball!

Chris, who would you have liked instead? I would have like Miranda but I expect she's too busy. I'm not too disappointed with Zoe though, at least we know she loves SCD! I'll reserve judgement till I've seen ITT

Thats the thing, havent really got anyone else in mind, although Miranda would have been a good choice. I find Zoe Ball a bit OTT and gushy at times and having been unfortunate to hear her on the radio the other morning she does a very good line in interupting. We will see

At least Zoe is not that comic from the south west.

Re: Zoe Ball to present "Takes Two"
I wasn't a fan of Zoe's before she became a contestant and, once she was a contestant, didn't really mind her because she was too busy or too breathless to be so luvvie. Now she's back to being Zoe Ball I'm afraid I even have to switch her off on the radio, she's just so MeMe - she name drops all the time and she looooooves everything and everyone - which let's be honest can become a little tiresome. She doesn't have the Goddess Claudi all hail her name's spontaneity, a bit too gushy for moi. I found last year's ITT a little too formatted, there were no controversies and I think that took some of the fun out of it for me, so won't be too bothered about not watching it this year. The really good news is I won't have to watch the frightful Karen MeMe, vying for top position with Zoe MeMe.
I'm a no thanks.

Re: Zoe Ball to present "Takes Two"
Although Zoe wouldn't necessarily be my first choice (I, too, would have liked Miranda or Sue Perkins pehaps?), but she's a much better option than the others who were in the running, namely Natasha Kaplinsky and Denise Van Outen.
The way I see it, ITT with Zoe is better than no ITT at all. It's more interesting to watch at dinnertime than Judge Judy or the news!

Actually Judge Judy covering ITT would have been a hoot - Victoria Coran would have been a good choice too.

Re: Zoe Ball to present "Takes Two"
I don't really know her. I've seen her on a couple of One shows but that's about it. I'm going to miss Claudia's lightning quick comebacks, but hopefully Zoe will bring something to the party.
I'd like to see Miranda, Hilary and Claudia herself as regular guests. One can only take so much change.
MsL - Victoria Coren's book was a highlight of the summer for me. Great read.

Caught the first show tonight and, whilst Claudia will be badly missed, Zoe Ball did okay. The show moved along nicely and the fabu-u-lus darling one R H was in fine form as usual. Too soon to say much but it's nice to have some teatime dance news to keep us in touch. Claudia's 22 inch stilletos will be big shoes to fill.

Re: Zoe Ball to present "Takes Two"
I have never been a lover of Zoe Ball but I did enjoy tonights ITT. Last years offerings seemed too rushed, frantic and with all the changes to the main show somewhat scripted.Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Re: Zoe Ball to present "Takes Two"
I thought Zoe did pretty well. She needs some better questions for CRH's Monday judging slot, but I imagine that's an issue for the production team rather than Zoe. Could have done without the VTs of what the judges thought before they'd seen anyone dance, which seems irrelevant now.
One thought that struck me: the beeb have known for quite some time that Audley's doing the show and has enormous feet, so why didn't they order him a couple of pairs of specially made shoes in advance, rather than him having to make do with suede on the soles of his own shoes? Thought Natalie looked relaxed and they seem to get on well. These two are growing on me.

Re: Zoe Ball to present It takes Two
Early days yet and it had a different vibe than before but it was ok and I enjoyed it. I thought the pace was good and Zoe did well. Like others I had a few issues with ITT last year and started to get irritated with it, but will give it another try. Zoe is such a supporter of SCD - I'll never forget her tango with Ian.

My view too, Sid.
Having now seen Zoe's first show, other than her rushed and rather breathless style of presentation, I'm reasonably happy... no-one could ever step into our Claudia's shoes and be better than she was.
I do have to say that I LOVED those shoes which Zoe wore in homage to our missing Claudia...
I also enjoyed the 'intro trailer' (the bit where Robin crooked his finger when the lift door opened, especially )

As a quick response to Zoe on ITT I will simply say: Calm down dear.
She is not C but a change was needed, a pity the changes did not extend to the main show but that is a whole other thread I presume.

I wished I could walk into my telly at that point
Zoe was fine, she'll settle down and make the role her own I'm sure. Plus, the fact she was a contestant herself means she can empathise with the celebrities and talk more easily about the dances with people like C.raig and K.aren.
Speaking of C.raig, I'm glad he stuck to his guns when questioned about being too severe in the first week.

Didn't watch, so can't say, but going from the lukewarm comments and points about her 'breathy presentation' - pretty sure I made the right decision not to bother.

Yup, totally agree. She'll find her feet soon enough and make the place her own. I enjoyed the program (I get the feeling that when it comes to Strictly I'm very undiscriminating) - Crai.g was on great form, Lule and Brendan too. As far as I can see, all we've got is a different presenter and a new set, the rest of the program seems to be identical.
mmm. Karen Hardie tonight. Behind the back of the sofa time...

Re: Zoe Ball to present "Takes Two"
I think that Zoe is the best possible choice to present ITT. She's had years of experience at presenting live TV shows, and was also a really good contestant on Strictly - she should have won that series, imo.

Totally agree. Didn't they win quite often in the tour afterwards?
