A little bit of my news
I am going to be a Mrs in just over 5 weeks time. Mr PPG "popped" on Valentines Day and I think I'm the luckiest girl in the world.

Thank you FNO! No, Saturdays equal rugby so we're having a mid-week affair!! Not really a big do, my real life persona is one which doesn't really enjoy being the centre of attention!!!! It's just our families and our close friends. It's been very exciting but an emotional rollercoaster as I'm sure you know as SMOTB. I have a SMOTB and she is truly wonderful. We went wedding dress shopping together and it was lovely xxxxxx

Re: A little bit of my news
I hear mid-week weddings are all the rage. Step-daughter's is on a Thursday. I'm not only SMOTB but also wife of FOTB and mother of one of the bridesmaids (step-sister of the bride) so need to be giving lots of support on the day. Would perhaps go more swimmingly if the real MOTB was less unhappy about FOTB and SMOTB (and SSOTB) being there! Was chatting to a friend yesterday who said she was not only not allowed to sit at the top table when her other half's son got married but they didn't set a place for her anywhere. She ended up eating her wedding breakfast on a table with the photographer! Her advice was to get very drunk and show myself up. Needless to say I won't be doing that, I'm rather hoping the wedding will lay a few ghosts to rest and we can all be friends (or, at best, civil to each other).
A small intimate wedding will be lovely; any plans for a honeymoon? Or is he surprising you?

Oh gosh, that is awful. Your poor friend. I do hope the wedding goes well and, as you say, lays some ghosts. It should be a happy occasion. We're not going on honeymoon because of our dog who is too old to go into kennels but we're looking forward to having some chilled out days at home together after the do!

Re: A little bit of my news
Aah, glad to hear your dog's still around. We've still got the same three. One of the Dobes was bitten by an adder in May which was pretty frightening. We thought we were going to lose her, then we thought we'd lose her leg but eventually she made a full recovery. It's the same leg that's badly arthritic but she just never slows down. Yesterday she cut one of the pads in one of her front legs and this morning she twisted one of her back legs (not the arthritic one) so she ended today's walk trying to hobble on just one front leg - had to be seen to be believed!

Oh bless her, poor little thing. Not sure how much longer we will have our girl FNO. Every day is precious. She still enjoys her stroll around the green twice and day but I worry about her back legs and her breathing .... you know what it's like. She's given and gives us so much happiness.
Anyway, come on let's cheer up! What are you wearing to your SD's wedding? Are we going for the hat or the fascinator or the no headwear at all look?

Re: A little bit of my news
Purple (the colour I've been asked to wear) maxi sleeveless dress with v neck and high waist. Cream jacket with (very subtle) purple trim and fascinator with purple and cream feathers. All sorted yesterday. Need shoes but that's a minor detail!
Are you going to be all in white? a la Kate Middleton with lots of lace?

That sounds absolutely fabulous!! What a simply gorgeous outfit.
I'm wearing a long dress which is ivory silk. It is fitted and has grey and ivory tiny pearls around the neck line

Tiny pears ? Won't they go off before the big day.
I'd have thought a pearl neckline would be more appropriate but I guess your OH can sort that out on the day.

In PPG's defence I have to add that her tiny pear's not that small. She's just being modest.

Five weeks sounds remarkably soon. Well, I say that but AFAICR with five weeks to go I hadn't even met the vicar.
Big Wedding?
