Well it looks like someone has been listening to the fan feedback. I think they will have all done a Latin and a ballroom (or Charleston) by week 2.


Much as I love a bit of AC/DC, I'm not sure about Thunderstruck for a Paso Doble.

Billy Ocean seems a bit fast for a foxtrot for me.

In contrast 'Trouble' seems a bit slow for a jive. No doubt Dave Arch can wave his magic baton over those two songs.

Single Ladies? Again? Can't see a Charleston to that one but we'll wait and see.

Katrina and the Waves yet again. Bit of a lazy choice surely? Lots more songs out there folks.

A mixed bag, but at least they are balancing the ballroom and Latin so far which I like.

Good choices of music there.

Two things stand out to me the ramming of Layton Williams down our throats getting plum music for his dance. And Les Dennis getting shafted both weeks with dances you always felt he'd struggle with.

I agree with both your posts.

Layton will have had good music for both weeks and Les will have had to dance the samba which will be a real struggle I expect - stich up comes to mind. However, I love Rock the Boat - Hues Corporation. A fave track with me and a good samba beat for a beginner.

Overall, I think it is a much better selection of music this week but agree B4P that I can't see a Foxtrot in Billy Ocean. I also really don't like the rock interpretations of the paso! I know Mr T won't like this either - I hope we hear from him soon?? That said, I like most of the rest and love Angela's Foxtrot music!

Bit surprised that they have given Annabel 'fast' dances for two weeks in a row but given the athleticism we saw last week, I'm sure she will cope with the QS.

I agree CC. Having the samba to do is not going to do his knees any favours, just like in the tango. A very difficult dance for him to get the rhythm of without looking like he's hopping over hot coals.

A good mix I think this week. The only two I'm not sure about is Angela Rs Quickstep to Do-Re-Me. Is it a bit slow? In contrast, Waiting on a Miracle sounds very speedy.  No doubt a travel sick pill and Dave Arch's magic wand will fix that.

Overall, a good range of musical choices from Angela Rs A.Tango music to Rema's African rhythms.

I love Bobby's V.Waltz song.

I like the rhythm of Eddie's music, but the lyrics should be interesting for the singers to try and use.

I'm not sure about 'Insomnia' for Ellie's Paso. A club classic that might work. For me, it could go either way.  

Intrigued to see what Johannes has cooked up for 'Ladies Night'. Not a typical Charleston, but neither was the one he did with John Whaite?

The Backstreet Boys did ballads and faster songs, so I've no idea what Luba has planned for Adams CC.

I like Magic moments for Adam's A.Smooth. Will they be dressed as magicians?

Love Kiss from a rose for Krishnan's V.Waltz although it's been done to death (maybe that's why they're digging it up again for Halloween).  As we've already had Nigel dressed up as Batman, I hope the blue tights aren't reappearing. It would be nice to hear Hedwig's Theme from Harry Potter used for a V.Waltz for a change.

Not sure about Layton's Tango to Vampire. It sounds very soft and fast.

Angela S's Swan Lake Paso has been done before on upteen dancing programmes. It'll be interesting to see if Carlos chooses new choreography or goes for a cookie-cutter routine.

I'm a bit tired of hearing Murder on the Dancefloor yet again. I can't hear a Salsa in there. Hopefully Vito can come up with something or has Ellie been stitched up?

Bobby's Cha-Cha should work to that track. Trick or Treaters?

Wasn't Nigel's Cha-Cha track used for a Paso the other year? No doubt Katya can cook something up with that one.

Zara's Charleston track is really traditional, so if she can't let go on that one and have fun, she'll be in danger again.

Positives - No Couples Choices but that leaves more to be thrown in later in the season.

Negatives - There's so much music out there, especially film scores that haven't been used before.  Some of the tunes chosen seem a bit of a lazy option.

The list started off well , then died....Wham? Come on....

I'm a bit worried for Bobby this week. Duff music. A springy dance on an extra springy floor. How is he going to keep the long limbs pointing in the right direction, especially for a fast dance?

I don't mind Amy Winehouse but I can't see it for an A.Tango. I think Angela S. may struggle with the nature, and complexity of that dance.

I'm guessing with three lifts in her A.Smooth dance, Angela R. will be more airborne than earthbound, except for when they drag yet another table and chair set out from props again.
