Entertaining or Pointless ?

Without spoiling the highs / lows thread with one major low , whats everyones views on something i hated or found cringeworthy in company when it was You can call me Sir from now on,s shuffle & grope to meet Tess,s stumble & raised leg in skirts too tight intro to the show , with the now 2 ladies escorted down the stairs to meet & then to make it worse than before introduce the Judges who come out Srolling / Strutting / Hobbling intro we have this series ? Would it detract in any way if the presenters just walked on announced & then introduced the Judges / Band ? Not for me

Very unfortunately, it's the way of the world superken. With universities now giving degrees in Sports Science, Media Studies, How to be a celebrity and How high can Darcey's skirt go before indecent exposure comes in, ( I mean, classical ballet dancers with more tattoos than Iggy Pop, wtf? ) the whole pan of mushy peas has exploded and boiled over. It's all reminiscent of back to the arena and very soon they'll have carts trundling round the Strictly set and throwing barm-c akes and pasties into the howling mob of audiences,who'll holler like banshees and do gladiator salutes at the producers. We're past it mate, innit?.

I realised some time ago I was officially old fashioned when the wife threw my cricket cardigan, desert boots and orange flares out. As a protest I'm going to make myself a den in where I'll sit in a Mr Darcy style green coat, jodphurs, riding boots and silk top-hat  and write comments with a quill pen, by candle-light, as I play Bach's Tocata and Fugue on my D.V.D player.(Well, a man's entitled to some small luxuries surely?). I'll only switch my cinematograph on when the couples are actually taking the floor and the judges are firmly seated and stopped imitating a bad version of Simon Says do Funky Chicken. There, that should do it.

Yes, faffing about, whether the pros were doing to hide their celebs' weakness or the judges rambling, are equally annoying...

I do wish they'd do away with the judges dancing on bit. Just have them seated for goodness sake!

I thought that the judges thing was just a bit of a gimmick for the first few shows but it seems not.................................

You know the thing that is getting me? I don't think the band are really introduced properly anymore - Some weeks it seems to have been an after thought. B rucie used to ask for a round of applause for them didn't he?

Instead of the four judges can we not have a live feed of Mr T with his quill and top hat and breeches looking disdainful at the tv!

Oh, insupportable!. Unfortunately, I believe you saw me dancing at St James's madame, but I avoid it wherever I can. It isn't just a pastime for polished societies as people claim; every savage can dance. If my aunt, Lady Catherine had ever learned to dance she would have been a great proficient, don't you know? My cousin Darcey Darcy is of course a world leader in the ballet already. But here; All these undressed women indeed, tolerable enough I suppose, but not handsome enough to tempt me. The antipodean lady does, I grant, have a fine pair of eyes....

How would I rate the last contestants out of ten? Two. Insufferable,the fellow is wearing clothes I wouldn't go shooting in and I had to hide my eyes when Salome lifted her skirts above the knee. Insupportable. I shall raise the matter with the Duchess next time I'm in Bath..
