Poems, Limericks, Verse & Worse 2013
Hello! Hello! Hello| What is this vision I see
After the news has ended on the BBC?
A trailer showing a sparkly glitter ball
Must mean Strictly's coming, not bad at all!
Hello everybody, looking forward to the new series and enjoying reading everyone's odes, from both 'old timers' and any 'newbies' out there, who would like to join us!
All are welcome to celebrate all things Strictly in whatever form of verse they like - it doesn't even have to rhyme!

The One Show just did the reveal
so tell me, just how do you feel?
Was it who you expected?
Or are you dejected?
Winning card or another bum deal?

I made it.....
All set and am ready to go
Cannot wait for the new Strictly show
Flav & Vince gone - boo-hoo!
And dear Erin too.
Oh heck - now what will Tango do.....?
Greetings! An early sign in this year (trying to get into Lil's good books)
Though....
Hols will soon interrupt my 'flow'
Shall be sure and keep in the know
Up to Berwick on Tweed
Then return with some speed
It's a case of - I've just gotta go!
*two for the price of one....a bogof *

Re: Poems, Limericks, Verse & Worse 2013
Hello Missinglil, B4P, Sue...hope you all had a great summer, and great to see folks returning to the site. Feeling a bit rusty, so here goes.....
This poem took me quite some time
I couldn'a get the thing to rhyme
Nor think of any words sublime.
So here's a simple Welcome Back
To all the Strictly Exile pack
And newbies too, please join the craic.
All odes are welcomed, short or long
There really is no right or wrong
And if you're brave, a thread for song.
Looking forward to the launch tonight, hope it inspires lots of rhymes...

Hooray, now we've really begun
To start this year's rhyming fun
As the celebs do perspire
Will they us poets inspire
To create many an ode & pun?
I really think I should admit
When on my sofa I did sit
This year's 'line-up' to see
T'was a case of "who's he?"
And "I think I know her a bit"
It seems I haven't much hope
Not seeing much TV soap
Many names I don't know
Tho' it'll make a good show
By seeing how well they cope
It's getting near to the time
To finish this little rhyme
And get in front of the TV
To watch series 11 of Strictly
Strictly Exile heaven-oh,sublime!
Welcome back everyone... glad to see you're punctual this year, Strict Sue!
Enjoy the show!

I smiled at return of JamVan
I bet they're both thinking 'oh dam'.
Both quiet and demure,
with vocab so pure.
Call Baldrick - they'll need 'cunning plan'.

Opening show....
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, oh what a beginning!
Excited to see what they all will be bringing'
In training now surely, 24/7
To bring us a series that will be dance heaven.
The able and dodgey - their heads will be spinning
But I haven't a clue as to who will be winning!

Re: Poems, Limericks, Verse & Worse 2013
Commencing a new Strictly Heaven.
Old L. en's sitting there with a seven
A few dancers new,
A Russian or two
And a fella from somewhere called Kevin.
Brucie's still playing dodgy old charmer
Dispensing bad jokes, but with Karma
And of course we have Tess
Someone teach her to dress
In a frock not a gold suit of armour.
Tony Jacklin's a bit of a swinger
The model's a definite blinger
A big rugby striker
A fat hairy biker
And a skinny young lass who's a singer.
The show's in a studio new
The band look quite happy, it's true
We're ready to go,
so on with the show,
Who'll win it, I haven't a clue..
Rhyme on poets....

Chose any colour but yellow

Oh great and powerful Oz. Black or dark blue text pretty please

Re: Poems, Limericks, Verse & Worse 2013
My problem with text I reported
The Wizard of Oz got it sorted.
It couldn't be better
to see all the letters
I'm 'chuffed as nuts'. Who would have thought it?

Re: Poems, Limericks, Verse & Worse 2013
I reckon Juliens days are probably running out in Strictly, so thought I'd do a few verses about him just in case....
There was a young fashion designer
Always dressed up in black like bin-liner
He created kerfuffle
Demanding more ruffle
And three million crystals from China
And of Strictly he had expectations
Dreams of fabulous standing ovations
Now his ego’s deflating
With each weekly slating
And Zoe Ball’s commiserations
In the spirit of Strictly he’s king
Loves the sequins and spray tan and bling
But his partner, alas
Says he’s too full of gas
And that dancing just isn’t his thing
Now she wants him more macho and tough
Like a Cuban with stubble, not fluff
Would a man from Havana
Wear a sequinned bandana?
His samba may not be enough
In the dance-off he’s been in a few
Will the next one mean final adieu?
At least till mid week
To return with a shriek
On the fashion slot on It Takes Two?
