Re: Zoe Ball to present "Takes Two"
Karen was good tonight, I thought. I like it when she disagrees with the judges and explains why. Just saying, coz I criticise her often enough...
I think they've got the message about Julien MacDonald's exuberance! He was more informative about the dresses tonight, but I still thought the leopard print was awful.
Drop the silly thing about people wearing Stricly dresses to work, though, please.

If the penny had really dropped they would have had Hilary back by now
The plumbing segment was dire!

Re: Zoe Ball to present "Takes Two"
I always feel like I learn something from Karen during Choreography Corner - and I'm glad she defended Nicky and the other Karen. I spotted basic Rhumba steps in their routine and I'm not even a dancer! But there's always going to be a limited amount for the male celebrity to do because time and time again we've been told it's a dance that presents the woman. My main problem was that the performance left me cold.
I don't even bother with the fashion guy anymore so have no idea whether he's improved or not!
I do like hearing what the couples say to each other during their dances - but then I've always been nosey

I look forward to Karen's spot, she knows what she's talking about. I did notice tonight though, as interesting as it was, she was getting a tad overexcited - put me on edge a bit.
It left me cold too Sid. Plus I was a bit fixated on the flapping shirt, thinking how unsexy it looked - a bit like a man who leaves his socks on.Sid wrote:But there's always going to be a limited amount for the male celebrity to do because time and time again we've been told it's a dance that presents the woman. Nor do I. I start to read the paper or do something else when he's on.Sid wrote:I don't even bother with the fashion guy anymore so have no idea whether he's improved or not!
For once I disagree with you Sid. I hate it when I see them talking to each other - except of course Richard who was quite funny with his agonised mutterings.Sid wrote:I do like hearing what the couples say to each other during their dances - but then I've always been nosey

Re: Zoe Ball to present "Takes Two"
A man leaving his socks on I wonder!!! Some parts of ITT I read the paper!! Ive never before & wonder why? Is it because ITT messed around too much with the newstyle? Is it all too rushed?? Drop the go to work in an SCD dress.Hilary Hilary where forth art thou? Bring back the Saturday night family watching & scoring!!
KH gives good insight & yes she gets a little flappy at times!! On a Friday Id love to see anhour show!! More time with costume & more friday night panel!!!

Did the plumbing lady really fel that flapper dress presented her in a good light? Really? She looked far more human and attractive in overalls. Let's keep a sense of proportion amongst the daftness of that fashion budgie chap hey? Do they put Benzedine in his Trill?

Re: Zoe Ball to present "Takes Two"
Strange that Victoria hasn't watched her dance back yet!!Surely this would help her?? Love Ian's "Boots again!". Ian points out the couples will be training harder this week!! Also Ian advising DvO doing alright & to keep her arms shaped!! Then Zoe saying "Don't do that you've a sweaty patch!" then mauling Ian's bottom!!!
Louis & Flavia good to see them on ITT.Louis advises hard to get good scores with Latin!! Love his style & Louis saying " Darrrrrceyyyyy" re lower marks!!!
Talia & Patrice excellent parody of Richards dance!!!

Re: Zoe Ball to present "Takes Two"
loved Louis' spoof of the male pro dancers!!! Not so keen re the hoiked up trackie bottoms!! His Vincent inpression smoking!!! & his "oh mom!" stop coming in I still cannot warm to DvO or the red lippy!! James looks quite lean!! James advising he has choreographed the dance & wants to dance Saturday!!! Why being in a sub if your not going to let your celeb have the best chance & stick with one partner all week & Sat dance too

I know - that's why I'm trying hard not to. I can't guarantee success, though. We always seem to be singing from the same hymn sheet.Sid wrote:Lucielle wrote:For once I disagree with you Sid. Re: Zoe Ball to present "Takes Two"
Was really encouraged by the training clips. Looks like people are upping the standard and really putting some effort in. Victoria looked fine, hope she can keep her confidence up on the night. Even Fern looked much better. Erin is chancing it a bit with the mirror/shadow dancing. Hope they don't do too much, as even one slip out of sinc will be very noticable. Michael has a hard task but a great desire to do well and I really hope it goes well for him. Dani and Vincent and Lisa and Robin looking very good too. Louis has really come out of his shell and he's a real serious contender for the title. He has all the moves and actions and if he gets the expressions right and gets inside the dance he'll take some catching. Do a Head Movember Louis and don't have a haircut till it's all over. Best of luck to James with his ankle.

Didja all hear in the VT when Louis was doing 'pro male' Latin what Flavia said about his first bad effort "oh don't do Housewives choice"........oooooo, we are not the only ones to notice Housewives choice's bad Latin....

I loved his impersonations, the one of An.ton was uncannily accurate.

I loved the Robin one - the manic jive. It was spot on and so funny. I can't look at Robin dancing now without laughing.jingle wrote:TANGOLERO wrote: Do a Head Movember Louis and don't have a haircut till it's all over.

Talking of which, there is something so amusing about Michael's dancing. His legs remind me of the scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz. The top half looks so upright and firmly in control then as the eyes travel down, the legs from the knees downwards seem to be all over the place - as if the stuffing's fallen out. His jive is a good example. He's concentrating so hard at the top end but the legs have a mind of their own. But he's light on his feet and full of energy. Fingers crossed he stays another week.

Re: Zoe Ball to present "Takes Two"
That was a weird show. It seemed to centre almost exclusively around the scoring for Louis's Waltz. I don't recall any other celebrity getting a one-on-one assessment of their dance from C.raig on ITT?
I don't know. It all feels a bit manipulated to me. As if this is all heading towards the culmination of an "I won C.raig over" storyline whereby in a couple of weeks he gives Louis a 9 or 10 to loud whoops and cheers and Louis's Strictly j0urney is complete!
I loved Fern & Artem though. Best exit interview so far. What a sweet gesture to present Fern with flowers. Can't believe I doubted these two.

OOH! Sid, I'm with you all the way re Louis.
C.raig nearly had me convinced I should vote for him every week
I had warmed somewhat to A.rtem this year but now I love him (elbows Fern out of the way)

I was far from convinced by the fabu-u-lus darling one tonight. I get the impression that he marks dancers such as Louis down and others such as Richard up. I genuinely don't believe that he approaches them all in the same way, however much he argues that he does. And as for the admission about having favourites - what was that about? He's a judge FGS - favouritism isn't a word that should come anywhere near him.
All that aside, didn't Flav look stunning tonight?

Yes David. He looked almost flustered at times tonight when he was put on the spot. Three nines against his six showed a real flaw in a professional judge. I'd have accepted some of his comment with an eight, but six just made him look foolish, and he knew it. L en, a ballroom specialist, gave Louis a nine. Wonder if Sid could be right about a set-up? Bit of a dangerous way to achieve it though?
As for Flavia, she looks stunning all the time. .

Re: Zoe Ball to present "Takes Two"
Im not convinced why we needed C.raig to do a post mortem re his "6" on ITT face to face with Louis & Flavia. No other time in the series have we had such a showdown. It felt almost a forced publicity stunt by the BBC!!
C.raig obviously has a soft spot for Richard! Are we now going to ask every judge to come on ITT & explain their too low score or their overmarked scores!!!
A worrying time now re integuity of the scores.
