Given the rubbish scripted VTs on the main show, I think ITT gives a bit more insight into the partnerships. This week I've thought Mollie & AJ and Ruth & A.nton have looked very comfortable with each other, whereas some of the others have looked a bit more distant. I also really liked Joe's interview yesterday, he just seems like a really nice, well-grounded guy who wants to learn.
I'm very much a' j-word' voter and don't always want the best dancer to win, so I think ITT does influence me a wee bit.
Yes I agree too.
It's a bit fast and frenetic at the beginning but it does give a good insight into things. I love Waites Warm Up. I actually thought it improved last year as they had more varied items as the series progressed which were really enjoyable - like Neil going off and exploring different forms of dance - also enjoyed the Peggy Spencer tribute and a few other things. Hail Zoe Ball

Rufus Jones is like my Friday Panel spirit animal!
Everything he said I felt the same way about - hoping to see an older woman do well at last, finding it hard to invest in ringers sometimes, that it's a marathon not a sprint and you don't wanna peak too early. He's a proper superfan!

Re: It Takes Two 2017
I thought Rufus was great on ITT tonight. It would be interesting to hear him on the same panel as Vernon (Tess's husband) and Marian or Miranda.
I'm still enjoying ITT, in fact, if anything, I'm going off the Results Show. I record it but only really watch it for the opening Pro dance routine. I've not been bothered with the musician guests for a long time now, and the results can be found in many places now without needing to watch the show and partaking of the agony.
I was moaning about Zoe and her perpetual black outfits last week, but I noticed she's injected bits of colour this week. I liked the green jacket on tonight's show.

Feel the same way about the Results Show, B4. Have done for a while. I suppose a big reason for that is I can't resist looking at the Spoiler the night before lol - so there's no sense of anticipation. The pro dances aren't what they used to be either and I haven't even heard of half the music guests the old fuddy duddy I am lol I'll just have it on in the background.

I concur. I was sat on my sofa applauding when he had finished his bit about Debbie...
Actually, I'm marrying Rufus. You're all invited to the wedding, obvs. Dress code glitz and glamour (also obvs...)
Ther must surely be a permanent role for Rufus in the World of Strictly. He is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I would personally rather see him than Gethin (who is fairly easy on the eye but not someone I feel any real warmth for). But he would be wasted on the Behind the scene slot. Actually, perhaps he could take B.runo's place on the judge's panel... He speaks with more measured sense and knowledge and is more genuinely funny.

Miranda, Marian and Rufus is my dream panel B4p . I had forgotten about how knowledgeable and into it Vernon is... he can b back up for when of the others is otherwise engaged (in my dream they can do every week apart from the odd one - hence Vernon on the sub's bench...)
And I ageee about the results show. Pure pergatory. Even the pro dances have left me cold of late, ie the last few series. Not all of them, but overall. The musciand guests are usually excruciating.... and I to be honest I find the wafting and weaving of the pros whils they are singing total overload - I can't concentrate on either one. The singers distract me from a nice dance and the dancers distract me from the singer who is sometimes someone I want to listen too (sometimes...)
Is it the weather making me a bit grumpy...?

Not the weather at all D&P. A constant gibber of mine is exactly this. Whatever happened to silence whilst listening and appreiciative applause at the end? The audience "look" civilised, but the noise levels are zoo monkey house quality. Personally, I'd escort anyone found squeaking, yah-yah-ing and seal clapping during a singer's performance, from the building.

Re It Takes Two 2017
Rufus Hound needs a Friday panel all to himself!!! It is also refreshing to hear someone say what they really think - albeit in a diplomatic way - rather than just being 'pc' about it all.

Zoe would be great as presenter of Strictly but I can't see that ever coming about. I can't see Tess ever being replaced owing to her long connection with the late S.ir B.ruce. If Tess does leave it will be when she quits in my opinion.
Re: It Takes Two 2017
Tess has been there from the off yes however B.rucie bless his cotton socks was replaced after a few calls from fans etc re his performance. .. Why should Tess be exempt? Many programmes change long standing presenters to move with the times, fresh face, fresh feel....
Is Tess to be there another 10 years?

Oh don't get me wrong I am not saying she should be exempt it is just the feeling I get and with the way the BBC work. Tess has been there since the start and is seen as part of the furniture now. B. ruce was jettisoned more to do with health issues in my opinion and was a decision forced on them. He couldn't go on forever. Age/health is not an issue for Tess and viewing figures have remained at a constant with her at the helm so can't see them changing for change sake.
Re: It Takes Two 2017
True CC HOWEVER the Beeb cannot see how they damage SCD with dire music choices & turning the audience into a mass induced screaming frenzy! I'm sure we shall see placards next with "I love you A,non or you rock AJ .
The Love God that is Leonard The Lion Goodman left for his reasons and Beeb gave him a omg awful afternoon show. C.laudia left ITT ON a high and yes too ook me a whole series to get into Zoe... I did...
For me,it's time to change Tess go on a high. Many programmes Tess could present with fresh enthusiasm. For me particularly last 2 series I've grown weary of SCD! & it's a scary fact... I lived for my Saturdays planned menu or takeawsy, drinks, snacks and notebook and pen ready.... Slowly it's oh yeah SCD . For me far to many couples now and I think this makes it tedious. 10 or 11 sounds fine and you don't lose interest.
I started as big fans of Susan,Simon,Charlotte,Brian,Joe,Jonnie and Davood.... Charlotte needs confidence, Brian love his personality and it shone with his scarecrow dance. Susan just bubbly & fun and I love that. Davood forme the fizz faded and I'm waiting for another "pop". Jonnie I feel Oti needs to be a little less fierce and more gentle with. Joe my darkhorse winner...

The only problem with that Sax is that Rufus won;t get to give his thoughts and opinions - the Zoe role has to be an impartial observer/presenter... And that would be a waste of him.
Also *speaks very very quietly* I like Tess... *runs and hides under the cushions*

Re: It Takes Two 2017
Tess could be great on ITT with Rufus free to make his opinions and thoughts heard ...Just something last season just grew weary re my SCD j,ourney then the reveal, launch and first few weeks haven't moved me up a gear, yet.
I felt right decision for Ghastly ever seen on this earth wig aka The Reverend to leave. I felt Simon's awful costume and poor faffing at end re rocket launch threw him to the DO... I felt Brian did well and glad he has another week...
I'm not sure if Charlotte now will be saved each week just to annoy Shirley & keep the cauldron of strife bubbling with Brendan

E rin, queen of ballroom was back tonight looking as wonderful as ever. How delighted I was when she quoted almost the same comment I made about Simon running to catch a bus/train in his quickstep. Either put her on the judges panel or persuade her to re-join the pros in the show. Either way, get her back..

Miss Whiplash at her best....... Please please let her judge next year....
My main concern is how C,raig looked has he had more cosmetic surgery? Scary resemblance to the eyes of MJ and also his nose share re tip and fragile looking nostrils...for me looked very weird

Re: It Takes Two 2017
Have enjoyed both Monday and Tuesday nights this week.
It was interesting to see CRH on the show last night and so now we know about the '10 second rule' that no-one in viewer land has ever heard of. Once explained it all made sense - but it has never been expressed before - strange one - I laughed when CRH said that people had been breaking the rule in recent weeks - I think they've been doing it for years not weeks!!!! I remember when A liona and A rtem used to get told off by L en but then it all seemed to be dropped. I very much agree with a ballroom dance not having too much out of hold - otherwise it starts to become something different like an American Smooth. I wonder why they decided to make an example of Debbie and Gio in particular? Also a bit rough on a theme week, when usually more allowances are made. However, I think it might have done them a favour in a way - brought them down from the 'perfect' rung.
Tonight I thoroughly enjoyed listening to E rin what a seasoned teacher and choreographer.
Oti seems very different and far less intense this year with Jonnie. I keep wanting Jonnie to have that Greg Rutherford moment and have a breakthrough week.

Re: It Takes Two 2017
I’m convinced that’s why they did it mauve - to stem any kind of backlash there might be against Debbie for being too good, be interesting to see if they actually start pulling couples up on it routinely.
Seeing Erin today made me rue the day we lost her from the show. She was always so good at teaching the basics and I’ve always loved her slightly kooky sense of humour. I liked her subtle shade at Mollie & Aj: “Her feet barely touched the floor”

Yes - you're right S id - she was very subtle! And it definitely will be interesting to see if they are consistent with the '10 second rule' (will it take on a life of it's own! )

I wondered the same sax, but put it down to the season for fresh botox. Ironic, as you need a mobile face to do panto whether it's panto for the west end stage or Strictly's weekly pantosaxonsiren wrote:Miss Whiplash at her best....... Please please let her judge next year....

I kept have visions of superwoman in a butchers apron. If she'd have stuck her arm out in said pose, I wouldn't have been surprised. Almost forgot she was supposed to be climbing a mountain (or whatever dance she was really down for)Sid wrote:Seeing Erin today made me rue the day we lost her from the show. Re: It Takes Two 2017
I certainly think she'd make a good judge. I wonder why she wasn't offered/(turned down?) the place. Maybe it's something to do with A.nton still competing though I'd be surprised if that influenced her. She's much more akin to the judge L.en was. Technically able but just a wee bit compassionate to the more terpishorean-ally challanged (OK I know it's not a word but it sounds good. )TANGOLERO wrote:E rin, queen of ballroom[...]Either put her on the judges panel or persuade her to re-join the pros in the show. Twirlie, you probably know, but both E rin and A nton are now married (not together) and have children. Add advancing age (however young in mind) and the commitment and time needed and I think that's the answer. They also both still tour as show pros as far as I know?
