Another vote for Sophie & Brendan's Charleston.

It was a visual treat. Has overtaken Denise and Kara's offerings (for me).

Couldn't stop whooping!

Definitely Sophie and Brendan's Charleston. I do love a good Charleston and for me it was the dance of the series so far.

Well I enjoyed lots tonight and I was very pleasantly surprised by Ashley's ballroom (so much better than his cha cha) but yes, the outstanding dance of the night was Sophie's.

Definitely Sophie and Brendan by a long chalk - brilliant for week 2, and:D  a brilliant Charleston in any event:D Big surprise which is the beauty of SCD and especially with a dance that I would consider inappropriate for most couples on week 2

Like everyone else, Brendan and Sophie. If they keep this up, what are the chances of Brendan lifting the trophy a second time? He must be thinking about it.

Definitely Sophie & Brendan's Charleston.  She was fantastic and by about halfway through I was just hoping that she was going to manage the standard up all the way to the end, which of course she did.  Great choreography, in character throughout - I hope she keeps it up her sleeve if she's there for the final stages.

Not the best dance, but the one that made me grin from ear to ear at the time - and just as much now that I've seen it again.

I still can't believe Cr.aig thought this was worth a three.

It was worth more than a three but didn't merit 8's either. A fair score would have been six or seven at absolute max.

I thought it was worth the 8s! It was brilliant in so many ways. Iveta is shooting up in my estimation (and I already liked her before the series) every week as she turns out to be a fabulous choreoghrapher with a lovely "mad as a box of frogs" twist. But Iveta aside - Mark"s musicality was astonishing. His rhythm, the amount of little tricks he got in with perfect musicality and timing was damned impressive. the fabu-u-lus darling one was wrong about his feet - his feet in the cha cha sections were insanely good! They were flat-footed (intnetionally) in the hip hop sections and gorgeously fluid in the cha cha sections - and the way he effortlessly switched between the two styles with perfect timing repeatedly throughout the dance was masterful. the fabu-u-lus darling one needs to watch that dance back with an open mind and eat humble pie. If Lisa Riley (his favourite) had ever done a dance half as polished as that, the fabu-u-lus darling one would have got his 10 out.

Well we do know C.raig has his favourites and those he marks down and doesn't take to. I liked the choreography but did seem a little static so would have given it 6 or 7 myself. Mark will be safe though for a few more weeks I feel.

I'm with you CC - 6 or 7 for Mark and Iveta for me. It would have gone up to 8 from me if it had been a proper cha cha. My whole frustration is that I too think his feet are rather good and when he did the cha cha bits it was great but although I accept it was an M C Hammer themed dance, for me it just tipped over too miuch into an M C Hammer showdance rather than a cha cha which was a shame. What they performed was good but I want Mark to stop being a musical theatre actor playing a dancer and go in and do a straight dance - not a stage piece - I think he has proved he has the ability. This is just a personal view as I can see that lots of you are enjoying Iveta's work - it does bring an interesting twist to SCD that we haven't seen before and it is fine for the 'theme' nights but not every week.

I really liked the first 30 seconds and the final 30 seconds, but felt it dipped a bit in the middle. Would've been a 7 from me.  I definitely agree with you Littlebear, Mark is so strong in his musicality and rhythm - one of the best of all the celebs I think. I just get the feeling that he's capable of more than Iveta gives him (I felt that more in last weeks American smooth than this week, to be fair)

Loved Natalie and Artems routine last night, it was almost hypnotic with all the spinning black and white.

My favourite dance though was Abbey and Aljaz. I really like his choreography, and she's come back fighting after a couple of dodgy weeks.  I gave her (and Julien) all my votes last night.

EDIT - sorry mauveangel, I think I posted before seeing yours - totally agree with your points about musical theatre

I do agree I wish Iveta would use the fact Mark is light on his feet & concerntrate there more rather than theatrical faces/gestures. I thought the routine got muddled a little in the middle section.
For my favourite dance this week Ill be controversial & advise its Ashley & put a vest on you strumpet I loved the song choice, style of O.la's dress. For me it felt light & dreamy & I loved his arms! Felt they got marked more harshly. Natalie the dance executed well it just didn't move me

Wanna believe your watching a live show with live judging but when i see the judges laughing & joking & faffing with their paddles i always think preordained , never noticed that last night but scores ranging from 3 - 8 that,s like telling me Santa Claus is real Shocked .

I watched last night after a few ales & a few Vodys & as always when that,s the case i thought they were all alright Very Happy
& as always after reading the comments im now off to iplayer to check what vody does my judgement Cool

Sophie's periodic foxtrot. So good it was over too soon. Anything that takes you along with it is right. This did.
Abby's tango. Looked like tango, smelled like tango, was tango.

Mark's cha cha cha and Ben's salsa both had the wow factor for me.

Sophie's foxtrot was just divine.
