Highs.
I'll leave the Highs alone apart from Joe's Charlston and A nton's comedy. Decent enough without anything ruly outstanding.

Lows.

In tune with B4p on many. All oklay by me, so I'll use his comments (most of) Wink :

" Cr aig doing his panto Dame part, scraping along the floor to Budgie
Budgie being ruthlessly pushed upwards and onwards.
Gemma seems to have stalled
Crazy scores - Davood & Susan way up the board?
Aston's VW that wasn't
Music dire again.
T ess chirping up again whilst the judges are speaking.

HIGHS
The end of Ruth and A nton's routine!
Haley's singing as part of the routine (why didn't she get an acknowledgement?)
Davood's American Smooth (I thought he deserved to be way up the board.)
Neil and Chloe's dance in the results show.
C raig and Shirley judging the DO on performance and not on potential.
Aston going out and leaving the field more wide open. I found him boringly predictable.

LOWS
C raig's over-the-top bowing and scraping to Debbie.
Joe and Katya's Toy Soldier Charleston
The fact that Gemma and Jonnie don't seem to be getting any better now.
Mollie being in the DO again.
Darcy and B runo judging the DO on potential and not on performance.

HIGHS

Obviously, one less ringer on the show.

Generally, a raising of standards by most couples.

Joe and Davood moving up a level.

CRH and Shirley having the gumption to make the correct decision in the dance-off.

LOWS

CRH's very odd actions after giving Debbie 10. Just no need for it.

D'Arcy's obvious guilt when wrongly voting to save Aston.

Twitterati reaction to Aston's exit. Shows there are a load of clueless Strictly fans out there.

Naff costumes for Joe, Susan and Aston.

She probably won't herself this morning Taps; it was most likely just a spur of the moment thing due to circumstance and certainly not planned. I saw it as quite harmless/funny really. Very Happy

Ah I suppose you are right .! I am a bit grumpy as I find the change in Strictly just a bit sad .No more beautiful ballgowns , no more simple and wonderful pro dances .But I have to go with the flow and just enjoy it . Smile

The producers much be rubbing their hands in glee today - they've even made headlines on the lunchtime news! Everyone is talking about it, and what's that old phrase there's no such thing as bad publicity?
I can't believe that all the ne'ersayers will stop watching in droves. It's quite funny to listen to them though! Take your pick as to who is to "blame"
*Shirley- for her casting vote
*the fabu-u-lus darling one- for giving Aston a 4
*The producers- for "fixing" the show
*Wardrobe- for duff outfits
*The producers (again) for a naff theme and music
*Janette - for choreography
*The GBP- for voting for Ruth et al

Whilst I think that Janette has to shoulder some of the responsibility as choreographer we don't know how much say she had in  the whole production, in terms of wardrobe song choice etc. What strikes me most is that nowhere do they blame the GBP for NOT voting for Aston! *slaps forehead*
To misquote Beyoncé - If you liked it then you should've put a vote in for it  Laughing

Ah but the conspiracy theorists are claiming it is all fixed. Clairvoyants claiming he got enough votes but Beeb somehow wanted him out so dropped him iun the bottom two. affraid lol!

I am gobsmacked that there hasn't been the widespread racism card played to be honest.

Quite, allsewnonbyhand. The thing is, I suspect most people didn't care enough about him. Tonight on ITT,  Janette was going on and on about never assuming that the good dancer will get through and that you must vote for your favourites. What she doesn't seem to have grasped is that people did vote for their favourites, but Aston isn't one of them. She's obviously very pissed off with the judges for not scoring them highly enough as well, to keep them out of the DO. C raig's 4 may have been a bit harsh, but on the other hand it's the sort of mark he gives other people for the same sort of technical shortcomings. Aston was totally amazed to get such a low score. He was used to walking away with high scores and lots of praise. Janette too just stopped short of being scathing about all the judges being critical of the dance. She obviously still thought they did a wonderful routine and had in no way taken on board the criticisms about the choreography nor had she taken on board any of the comments about Aston's technique.

I'm afraid I shan't miss him.

He'll recover. He's young and probably had a shock to the nervous system thinking himself impregnable. You tend to do at that age. Might do him some good in the long run.

Highs

- Shirley following the brief and doing exactly what's asked of her.

- Alexandra's dance. I really want her to be all: "They call me Cha-Cha because I'm the best dancer at Borehamwood" from now on Razz

- Singing-while-he-dances Gorka is my favourite Gorka.

- Ruth and A.nton's inadvertent comedy routine (and Hayley getting a starring role in their performance)

- Mollie's Foxtrot. AJ does some really nice traditional Ballroom (remember Claudia's Quickstep?)

Lows

- The anti-Shirley brigade out in full force.

- C.raig dropping to his knees (and please, no one believes that's his first time).

- Janette letting Aston down.

- The Salsas. They need to be put to rest.

- The pro dance. You don't touch Prince for starters.

Just spluttered my herbal tea - twice!! ANd actually LOL-ed...

Not a fan of Prince (sorry Sid Embarassed ) but even if I was all the changing of songs and thus tempo was irritating. Didn't love the costumes either Sad

Highs
Seal
An ton & Nadiya's dance with Seal
Nadiya's result show dress
Result show Pro dance very moving with the armed voice choir
The travelator use and slowed down version of '500 miles' sung by Tommy Blaize
Katya's Rumba dress
Joe surviving the Rumba
Jonnie getting to Blackpool
Vin cent in the audience. Hope he's on ITT next week.
Davood geting a dance that suited him
Poppy collection at the stations (hope they charged extra for all the selfies)

Lows
Ruth & An ton's donkey trot. No mention of the length of time out of hold?
Cr aig revising his dull dull dull. Rude and unnecessary
Cr aig not mentioning Davood's swivel including a swivel whilst lifting.
Gemma getting bashed whilst she lost her shoe on a pivot.
Mollie being bashed by most of the judges after just having 2 bad weeks.
Susan overmarked a bit
Never any criticism (constructive or otherwise) for budgie
Alexanders hyper-ness. 'Dance with me or I'll give you a thick ear' vibe
Not a 10 week for me. 4 x9 for a couple of dances

Ultra low: the fabu-u-lus darling one telling Jonni before the D.O, "Do that and you'll win". That was very unprofessional and totally unnecessary.Must have made Ruth feel really good. Plonker.....

Highs

- Mollie's jubilation at being voted through

- Catching sight of Vinnie in the audience and Alexandra doing justice to his choreography.

- Davood finally seems to be getting it together and I can't help but feel happy for him.

- When everyone in the Clauditorum was like "My first time in Blackpool! Beyond excited!" and Gemma was all "Meh I'm there every other week"

- Jonnie's so laid back he's practically horizontal (which is no bad image to have tbh Razz )

Lows

- Shirley and B.runo using 10s like they're Donny.

- The treatment of Mollie.

- Susan being treated more leniently than others and her constant gushing becoming slightly wearisome.

- A.nton not exactly living up to his 'King of Ballroom' title with something that resembled Ruth's Quickstep even more than her actual Quickstep.

- Will Darcey ever make an entrance that doesn't look like she's never danced before in her life?

Highs

YASB's Waltz dress onteh results show
YASB's pink Charleston shoes
Katya's Rumba dress (ok, it wasn't on a par with Rachel Stevens', but what is?)
My votes for Mollie being included and counted (for a change....)
The GBP being beautifully manipulated into voting the right ones into the dance off
YASB's waltz dress on the results show
YASB's Waltz dress on the results show

Lows

Molly having to give up the very necessary red for a Paso dress to a very uncessary red for the Salsa and the tango (NEVER forgiving you that one Vicky - soz)
Judges comments to several of the dancers being unecessarily demoralising and rude
The mood as a result of the above
Ruth's dress
Alex's lipstick
The GBP being beautifully manipulated into voting the right ones into the dance off

LOL - two very different views of Darcey!

She's elegant for sure, and usually get's good frocks (though her earrings often wander into Pat Butcher territory), but she always looks like she forgot to remove both the poker and the coat hanger from her dress. Which you have to admit imakes fluid dancing a bit tricky....

She's super elegant but can't deny the Tess-esque awkwardness every time she has to "dance on" !

As for Shirley, she knows how to make an entrance (after the bit where she's caught watching for her cue!)
