Re: Training Clips 2015
It does indeed. She looks to be doing well for someone who's never danced. She could be a dark horse.
Of the others, well Peter Andre's excellent as everyone expected him to be. And very determined. I'd have thought he had a good chance, depending on his popularity as the series goes on.
I thought I was going to really like Jamelia during the launch show. Now I'm not so sure. Less messing about please. And Anita too. She can dance I'm sure, but please stop salivating over Gleb. It's just embarrassing!
Kellie Bright is doing well. The actors and actresses always "get" the attitude part of the dance early on, and she seems to be doing this with this tango.
Daniel O'Donnell looks as if he's working hard. He's not a natural so the steps are going in more slowly. He's not great but he doesn't seem to be totally rubbish either. I hope not anyway.
It looks like being a good year.

Second training clip is Anthony & Oti. Is it a Jive?

Anthony say's 'I don't really count music....' (Whoops. Is it just me that finds that sentence a bit worrying?)

If Anthony loses a little initial stiffness and boxer's "tension", he may well turn out to be a prospect.

Not keen 9n the Tango so early on! Much prefer say Tango for all week 7. Waltz feels a safe bet for Daniel and Jamelia I think a giant gobstoppers might be in order

Agree. To be voted out in the first couple of weeks for a less than perfect tango is very harsh. Walk before running should apply here. If people were voted out after say doing four different dances instead of the weekly guilotine it would be much fairer. Then again, T.V is a business that runs on providing what the masses want, so thus it will always be. The Romans didn't kill folk and chuck bread at the howling spectators whilst doing it for fair play purposes. Nothing like a good bloodbath and ball rocks to the victims.

Re: Training Clips 2015
Also not a fan of the Tango on Week One, especially for someone with as much potential as Kellie. It's a dance I think you can only really do justice to once you've grown in confidence and become more used to the performance space and audience. Only then can you deliver something strong and convincing. Seems a bit of a waste giving it to Kellie and Kevin so early on.
No one looks shocking so far which is good! I thought Ainslie and Natalie were rather sweet. ""You want to be a coat hanger. Did I speak to you about the coat hanger?"
She's such a natural, patient (but with attention to detail) teacher.
Kirsty obviously isn't going to look as good as the Kellies, Helens, Jamelias etc at this stage. However, judging from that clip, it looks like she's going to have to work on her balance and co-ordination and to get 'centred'. Seems that's been an issue for a few of Brendan's partners.

Re: Training Clips 2015
Training clips (and first steps ones at that) are all anyone can go off, yet already the bookies are making favourites (from media):
Peter Andre 5/2
Helen George 5/1
Georgia May Foote 8/1
Jay McGuinness 9/1
Kirsty Gallacher 10/1
Jamelia 10/1
Katie Derham 12/1
Anthony Ogogo 16/1
Kellie Bright 20/1
Antia Rani 20/1
Ainsley Harriott 25/1
Iwan Thomas 33/1
Daniel O'Donnell 50/1
Carol Kirkwood 66/1
Jeremy Vine 100/1
Seems like, young, trendy and a being a celebrity are the new requirements for dance students. If the above is to be believed, why bother with a contest at all? Jeremy Vine (who I admit I'm not a fan of) looks earmarked for the exit door, my guess is this might not happen.

Clip 8
Ainsley & Natalie. Not sure what the dance may be, but Ainsley seems to be in ballroom mode?

Re: Training Clips 2015
I agree sax. The Tango is one to relish a bit further down the line. Love the gobstopper idea or maybe some caramel to weld her gums together? I did wonder whether the celeb might have a favourite that they definately wanted to try before getting eliminated. Maybe the Pros are being canny and trying to get rid of some of the tougher dances earlier on before elimation week?saxonsiren wrote:Not keen 9n the Tango so early on! ...and Jamelia I think a giant gobstoppers might be in order

I keep thinking Brendan & Kelly, instead of Brendan & Kirstie. My brain's getting mushed already.

Re: Training Clips 2015
One thing we need in mind and don't mention much: How must the pros be feeling about their chances of an early exit. Oh, sure, they'll all be in the show every week anyway, but as contestants they must get a few butterflies at the start just like their competitors. They'll know that the dreaded vote can defeat even the best choreography in the business. I just hope all the flying fingers kids are on pay-as-you go mobiles rather than contract or their parents might get some hefty bills. How absolutely sickening for anyone, pro or contestant to go out first. Best of luck to them all.

Re: Training Clips 2015
Aye, it's a jive and a fastish one too. So far Katie's getting chuffed at 90% done, but they're gelling nicely and the fact that she's loving it can only be a big plus. (One of my hopefuls)

According to Treetree on the Dark Side:
Ainsley was on Talksport this afternoon on the Hawksbee and Jacobs show, and he said he was practicing the tango with Natalie for next weeks first show

Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. On the basis that he'll escape the chop and have got the tango out of the way, mabe it's good. On the other side of the coin it's a hard enough dance for a more athletic type beginner to carry off and may make him look awkward. Ainsley's a character and will enhance the entertainment aspect of the show in a hairy biker sort of way, so I don't see him in any danger right now. I'd actually love the idea of him turning out to be a good dancer and taking the glitter ball with Natalie....but it's a big ask....

Re: Training Clips 2015
Call me boring but I'd rather they all did the same Latin and/or Ballroom week one (and it be CCC and Waltz).
Or most weeks actually.
