When was it decided that women with lips that looked like they'd been stung by twin bees was a glamorous look? I missed that meeting.. Sorry for being the clueless male, but as far as going through pain to make yourself look good, this idea was total shite to begin with.

All of which was a rather unnecessary rant to say - PLEASE bring back Hilary.
I so agree David.

I wasn't really paying much attention to Mrs Biglips, but she seemed to be getting quite animated about the thought of cutting the dresses up and turning them all into swimming costumes scratch Or maybe I nodded off and dreamt that part Embarassed

Agree with botox comments.......so ugly. Am I allowed to say how much better Karen Hardy looks with porcelain skin rather than fake bake.....she actually looks younger. Her face still moves so if there has been 'help' it has been well done.

As great as it was to see Kylie make an appearance on last week's show, it's sad that she seems to have gone down the botox route as well Sad I think a few lines on a face are a good thing. They add character and expression.

I've given up on the ITT fashion segment. It's boring going over last weekend's frocks again! And I miss nutty Hilary. When she spoke, she held my attention.

You mean that was a "woman" David? Thought it was that freaky Pete character out "I'm your Big Brother, get me out of here". Looked like she'd had her mouth widened by an Acrow Prop. I went to make a brew when she came on.

I agree SO much with these two statements! Perhaps we can start some kind of petition......(assuming that the producers actually take notice of anything their audience is trying to tell them....).

I like Miranda Hart but, oh dear.... what on earth was that 'Story So Far' thing supposed to be? Faux Jackanory? Awful! Still, glad to hear they've got Miranda on the Friday panel next week, which is a far better use of her talents and Strictly obsession!

Yes!!! I've learned more from Ian on ITT so far this series than I did from all L.en's ITT slots over the years. Ian would be the best possible stand-in / replacement for L.en on the judging panel, as far as I'm concerned.

Everybody not directly associated with dance, music and costume are coming across as clueless time-wasters and should be given the boot. The scriptwriters, directors and producers are obviously products of media studies, learn-it-all-in-six-months graduate schools and do it in between their main jobs in charge of activities on Cee-Beebies. All the daft fill-ins are really taking the show down. I'm all for entertainment but the "do you know who I am" and dancing about in panto animal costumes, Widdie's wobbles, Loonies ringing up with inane comments over the phone and all the rest of the juvenile nonesense is really galling. Get shut. There, that's better. Very Happy

Miranda? Not sure what it is that's so really likeable about that lady. She's quietly spoken, inarticulate, understated, funny and intelligent and really has an impact in all she does. I thinks it's her self unawareness in direct contrast to some of the others on the show. More of her.

What are Westlife flogging tomorrow?

On the other hand, am already looking forward to next weeks Friday panel...Miranda, Tom and Patricia all at once. That'll be quite a handful for Zoe (though she's found her feet now...maybe the memory of Claud has faded, but Zoe is fab). As you say LT, if only they'd get rid of some of the more inane fillers. Some of the callers on yesterdays Points of You were just creepy I thought.

Ooooh yes - I could do without a debate about chest hair when I'm having my tea. Though I did laugh when Zoe responded to the guy who asked where C.raig got his boots, with '1982'!

Can someone tell me why Patricia Hodge is such a big deal on ITT? I thought I had seen all of them over the years but I must have missed the one where she was a super fan or even interested in SCD. Is there some conection that I missed?

Ditto for me - I have not been aware of her before. Also totally agree with Kate that Miranda's talent was totally lost on the ridiculous and patronisig storytime. She made the best of it, but why have a talent like that with such a silly script - much better to have ler her loose and do her own take on the series to date. These inane VT's and dressing-up games are really, really irritating me now. Also agree with the comments about Ian Waite - he is really informative as well as charming and entertaining. More of this kind of stuff and less of the pre-school stuff please.

I guess they're having Miranda, Tom and Patricia together as a 'Miranda' show special panel. I may have misremembered this, but I thought I saw Patricia on the sofa one time last year. Possibly defective memory though. Embarassed

They're going to need more and more fillers over the next four weeks, as the number of couples declines, so I've been trying to think of ones from past series that I liked. So far, I've come up with:
1. Professional's Choice. Always liked this feature - where one of the professional dancers picks an outstanding routine from this or previous series, and explains why they think it stands out.
2. Strictly Cribs. Have they run out of people willing to let the cameras nose around their homes?
3. Pro Challenge. They had the dance machine and giant piano challenges in the closing weeks of previous series. I hope they've found something equally silly (but revealing of competitive nature) this year.

A couple of other ideas of what I'd like to see:
Maybe an ITT studio interview with Dave Arch & Singers about their favourite Strictly music, the process of selecting the music, arrangements and their preparation for each show.
An interview with Moira The Boss before she leaves, reflecting on her time in charge, and answering viewer questions, might be interesting too. Would they dare? Smile

Yes, I had forgotton about Professional choice - I did always enjoy that. For the main show, more professional dancing instead of the sillly VT's - an ideal opportunity to introduce new talents - well new to the TV screens that is - there must be so much unknown talent out there.

Yes Kate I think ms hodge was on sofa last year. Like all your suggestions, I saw Dave arch and singers interviewed on points of view the other week, that was interesting, I'd like more. Loved the dance mat last year they were sooo competitive!

Thanks Kate. I don't watch Miranda but now you've jogged my memory that Patricia is on the same show. It was that Zoe said requested by fans and I know Miranda and Tom were well recieved but couldn't remember Patricia so thought I had missed something. On the other hand she can't be any worse than Chris de Blurghhhh unless she has something to flog.
I remember the band leader being on ITT years ago and it was very interesting, how they get the music and fit it to the dance, the timing of the steps and the length of the dance. Not as easy as you may think.

Like your ideas Kate!

I am getting fed up with all the fillers and useless bits on ITT. Widdy's question time is a joke - who wants to know where in a supermarket they would work? Why not ask some serious questions - favourite dance, what they like to do in leisure time, did they always want to be a dancer, etc etc. There are loads of interesting ones out there!

I also hate Points of You - and have you noticed how it is always positive comments (except when someone last week asked why L.en was grumpy!)?

I hate the dressing up thing and got totally bored with Miranda Hart's Jackanory segment. Think most of the Friday panels are rubbish and that they are only there to promote something (with one or two exceptions).

Would love to see Dave Arch and the singers being interviewed. Plus more (lots!!!) of Ian Waite.

Little rant over (for now at least).

Erm, I quite liked Miranda's little story, especially the bit where Lulu disappeared in a puff of fairy dust!

Other slots range from mildly irritating to quite funny passing through informative on the way. Can't say I get excited either way. I think the whole show is half an hour of fluff (that is not a criticism) and I am more than happy to take the rough with the smooth. At least it's a daily fix of Strictly.

Videos of the contestants in training visiting deportment, ballet, Spanish dance schools, shows etc always went down fine with me. It was a relevant part of the training and had a purpose. The contestants must have benefitted from the experience and it was a learning curve for everyone. More of those.

Also, some clips of great dancers performing the same disciplines as those being discussed would be of real interest instead of the mind-numbing frill-frollery we get served up. Even clips of the pros showing how it should be done would be real bonus.
