I hope this works.
Yes this was a great dance. Very appropriate music and some great moves.

There was one of Mark and Karen's dances posted - Samba I think (on page one). Agreed about the early series I find it hard to remember them. If I am, being honest I didn't get into Strictly until perhaps Series Two or Three.

The clip is 's Mark and Karen's brilliant salsa - I also mentioned their Argentine Tango and have found a clip but need to work out how to do it.............watch this space!!! Last night I found a clip of Zoe and Ian and their sublime Tango (lovely costume as well) but it was a bit poor quality so perhaps someone will find a better one of this!

I have watched the show from the first series but I think I must have missed a lot of series 2 and series 3 was the one that I really first got into - Colin/Darren/Zoe etc.

Looking at all the clips on here and on YouTube last night it struck me that there were some brilliant pasos in the past and although there have been a few 'stand out' ones in the last couple of years, this particular dance seemed to have been executed better in the past overall - IMO. I suppose it is a bit of a 'marmite' dance - they make a real impression or it turns out a bit of a disaster.

I don't think that the Salsa has been brilliant in the last two years either. I know it is an unstructured dance but I don't think there have been many 'stand outs' recently. Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking anything - because I absolutely loved last series and the standard was excellent but in general I do think that some of the music of the last few years has not suited some of the dances (in some cases) - but I know this is partly because they 'exhausted' all the traditional tracks in the first few series - perhaps it is time to regurgitate some of them now? I know that Tangolero would probably agree.................

Great clip of Jill and Darren's freestyle CC! Completely forgotten about this one. It looks quite Salsa based and of course they did not do the Salsa in those early series........................ We've come a long way with the Show dances but this routine is lovely - they were one of those dream pairings. Darren and Lilia were dropped from the show before their time.

Yes mauve. I'd say it was clear that the freestyle dances were nothing like the more modern show dances. That Jill and Darren dance contained more dance and less fancy lifts that we see more of in more recent years.

Something that constantly irks C.C. Not everyone is an Olympic class athlete or gymnast and the show is surely supposed to be based on dance ability, not how many cartwheels or backward somersaults you can do. The line up at the start tells you it's always going to be an unlevel playing field, age, weight, mobility etc. It almost makes you wish they had some sort of limitations on the competitors, ie seniors and others groups. Are some of these folk ever really in with a chance from day one?

Yes TANGO I see what you are saying. A seniors Strictly Come Dancing would be good where we could have had the likes of Tony Jacklin, Johny Ball, John Sargeant, Felicity Kendall and such-like all competing on a level playing field.

Maybe not a level playing field, but Pamela did get to the finals. -t's clearly not as easy in your 60s, but it is possible. And she didn't have a great fan base either - and a lot of people didn't like her. She got to the finals because she was a good dancer.

I think they had a good chemistry. James drove her on by winding her up in training (if I remember correctly) and this spurred her on to try even more to prove him wrong.

Me too. I think the jive they did was in week 2 and got great scores. Vincent had pulled a hamstring early in the week and they ended up with about 2 days rehearsal time if I remember right.
