Samba
Tequila by the Champs – 1958 - Quintessential Samba

or
Soul Bossa Nova (AKA Theme from Austen Powers) by Quincy Jones – a favourite of mine

Cha Cha
Soul Drummers by Ray Barretto – from the wonderful Fania label
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6Ahw_kZXrE
Salsa
Salsation by David Shire (From Saturday Night Fever) although I think they were doing the Hustle in the film
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LfOmhUL5BI
Paso doble
El Gato Montes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnJHUqR-MXA
Tango
Por Una Cabeza (Shown in various films including Scent of a Woman and Schindlers List) Used for an Argentine Tango in SCD but I think it works for a ballroom Tango - oozes 1930s the essence of Tango - no stomping around here.

Viennese Waltz
Where do you go to my Lovely- Peter Sarstedt – 1969

Rhumba - two different types of Rhumba
Guantanamera (couldn't find a better version)

Charleston
Lead in my Pencil - Paolo Nutini

Oh you have some real corkers in there Mauve! I would use all of them except your choices for American Smooth and the Waltz - love, love, love both those tunes but have other preferred tunes (which I have not yet sussed out ) for these two dances. I love the Santana track - this was the one playing when Artem and James did their fantastic and hilarious rumba shown on ITT:

Me too Mauve- it reminds me of my mum because it was one of her favourites by Andy Williams. The year she died someone did a lovely waltz to this ( I seem to remember a beautiful lemon yellow swirly dress but I might be getting mixed up with something else) and I sat there with tears streaming down my face. A bit overused now, but will always be a fave of mine when done properly a la M. Williams ( Donny take note)

Some great stuff there Mauveangel, particularly Peter Sarsdet. Always been a favourite since I first saw him do it live on T.V.
This would be my Guantanamera: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QO4aegj-jA
I might also throw in: When they Begin the Beguine (The Artie Shaw version is immense). Gee there are so very many great pieces of music...

Hi Allse
Funnily enough it reminds me of my Dad - also I kind of get deja vu back to remembering the Andy Williams Show when I was very young.
As if that wasn't enough- it reminds me a of a tear jerker episode in 'Sex and the City' when Mr Big is leaving to go to the West Coast and at the end of the episode there is a tribute to the city of New York (after 9/11)

I like Peter Sarstedt too. Don't know if you can dance to them but I used to play Boulevard, Mulberry Dawn and Beirut in the car. Frozen Orange Juice was another feel good happy tune of his

Re: You are musical director for one week......
You've all been very busy! Been catching up with all the tracks, I especially like some of the Tango, Paso and Salsa suggestions - feel the music for these particularly dances is often either inappropriate or recycled.
B4 I was thinking a Viennese Waltz to Hedwig’s Theme (Harry Potter Theme Song) would be perfect for Halloween Week. Also love to see a Waltz to Under The Bridges of Paris -beautifully romantic

You are of course allowing for the melody to be played on a piano accordian, Sid? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rhe4hN8Mj0M
Maybe a romantic cities night:
Under the Bridges of Paris. Ella/ Dean Martin.
I love Paris, Ella/Frank Sinatra
Majorca Isle of Love, Bob Manning. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8gzg-D71ds

Talking of Harry Potter, I thought Thom looked good in the VT clip dressed as Harry.
Another slow Cha-Cha suggestion - Fashion (Paulo Nuttini)

But of course, Mr T Creates the most beautiful sound, makes you want to get up and dance.
(reminds me a bit of the 'Allo 'Allo theme!).

Re: You are musical director for one week......
I noticed that Disney's Cinderella had a lot of ballroom waltz songs that's quite suitable. And it will give them excuses to dress the female celebs in princess dresses as well.
A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBVqWSWPxlg
and this one (don't know the name, presumbly "So This is Love"?): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSsx0PC5yrk
Also, for VW, definitely Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty Waltz, or if they must get someone to sing it, then the Disney's version:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oXUx1aBxqA (song version), or the final scene with Tchaikovsky's (trancated) version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCPRcAvB7MU
Okay, this might be a Disney overload I know, so forgive me...
edit to add: b4p, your VW choice was inspired!

Whilst not strictly a tango B4p, have you heard this? It's actually Colombian done by Julio, but I think it would make a great tango piece.
