On Hallowe'en costumes - I really liked the green dress that Kristina wore a couple of years ago to do the 'Bewitched' dance with Jason Donovan - do you remember this Sax and HL? Not particularly 'spooky' but another one I remember along with the routine..................
The ONLY Halloween dance and costume I have ever liked. Kristina looked fabulous, the tune worked beautifully and Kristina choregraphed it wonderfully. Don't even remember Louis and Flav's Halloween dance which is talked of so often, but the Bewitched one is a standout dance, no matter what the theme, or despite the theme. Loved it!

Agree I re watched Kristina and Jason last night before SCD started and I felt it would still have been the highlight of the show.

As a kick on from another thread: There were only eight contestants in the first series of Strictly: This was one week's dance music to die for:

Lesley & Housewives choice 30 (7,7,8, Paso Doble "La Cumparsita"—Gerardo Matos Rodríguez

And not just only 8 couples, but only two dances per show. It makes it much easier to compare dancers, and I certainly welcomed the opportunity this week of comparing Pixie's and Frankie's Tangos. I would like it to go back to this - one ballroom and one latin per show so it is very clear and easy to compare like with like. Start with the Waltz and Salsa and build up to Paso and Argentine Tango with crowd pleasing Charleston somewhere mid season...
It'll never happen.

Re: You are musical director for one week......
Diamonds I agree better for the viewers to have only two dances each week a Latin or Ballroom but it won't happem Who decided dance chaos each week? I lnow lets have 4 or 5 different dances each week and lets stick a Tango/Rhumba/Paedo un week 2/3!
I think the dear old auntie Beeb have lost the plot a little this series.I suggest instead of Ask the Judge/Celeb a question lets have Choose The Music by the PRO Dancers and let the viwers vote for which piece of music! Give the choices to the professional not the monkeys in suits (Apologies to primates)

Indeed it won't. A dance show with no comedy capers and just relying on good music and dance? Afraid not D&P, it would be Come Dancing all over again. Who wants that when you can have Scott and Tugboat Annie?

Re: You are musical director for one week......
You probably couldn't use this first one as dance music but I just love the two guitars having fun
Doobie Brothers playing 'Slat Key Soquel Rag'
https://youtu.be/GfpfB0Zev1g
What about a Rhumba to Fleetwood Mac's 'Albatross'?
https://youtu.be/8scHKFwr0og
Could this make a slow Waltz?
Julian Bream playing Fernando Sor's 'Study in B Minor'
https://youtu.be/49x9Csv4KPk
Possible Cha-Cha-Cha?
Procol Harum's 'Pandora's Box'
https://youtu.be/ZlFPmHaXO9E
Rhumba?
Yvonne Elliman 'Hello Stranger'
https://youtu.be/bVJnoXheF-8
or Yvonne's 'If I can't Have You' for a Samba (I just love her voice it reminds me of chocolate mousse)
https://youtu.be/-pgJByML5xY
Another Samba possible
Doobie Brother's 'Long Train Running'
https://youtu.be/tnD0eVdHJfI
Not sure if this would be suitable for a Foxtrot
Ella Fitzgerald & Louis Armstrong 'Can't We Be Friends'
https://youtu.be/uEb4HzgILUU
Two strange soft V Waltzs to blues tracks
Stevie Ray Vaughn 'Tin Pan Alley'
https://youtu.be/xuYWhsjFpNM?list=PLzauiyXIK7Rj1h23BPvDb3sQwmzHhRuyX
Gary Moore's 'I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know'

Cameo's 'Word Up'
https://youtu.be/MZjAantupsA
Al Green 'Take Me To The River'
https://youtu.be/KEasxe8hDs4
Could this be spiked up a bit for a Tango?
The Gap Band's 'You Dropped A Bomb On Me'
https://youtu.be/17lkdqoLt44
Not sure if this has been used before for a Tango?
Talking Head's Psycho Killer

Just tried this over Vincent's Tango with Rachel Steven's and it goes ok
Brian Ferry's version of Dylan's 'Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues'
https://youtu.be/t_QECWI3akQ?list=RDt_QECWI3akQ
Possible Samba?

Love La Gota Fria. I first came across it on a Julio Iglesisas album I bought a few years ago. Great rythm and driving beat.

Can I please have a show that starts with Ella Fitzgerald singing "How High The Moon", a Paso to "La Virgen de la Macarena", a tango to Frankie Laine's "Eyes of a Woman in Love", ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPgdU26wh1c ) and then the rest all to Glenn Miller and ending with "Moonlight Serenade"....No, ah well just thought I'd ask anyway?
Ah, what the hxll, I'll make my own evening on Youtube.....

Is that a Foxtrot rhythm Tango? I like the Frankie Lane stuff too. My dear old dad must have had all his recordings. He was mad on Westerns so 'Do not for Sake Me' was one of his favsTANGOLERO wrote:Here's a nice easy-flowing instrumental for B4p: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YBjygHlo3E

Yes, I reckon Foxtrot.

If you want a rumba, this is a beaut, probably need the pros to do it justice. As far as musicals go, this is my very favourite all time favourite favourite favourite. Start at 45 secs in, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSyCiIkOde8&list=RDJSyCiIkOde8&index=1
