Tomps HB - Got my fingers, legs and eyes crossed for you all. Each week makes a massive difference.

Lot's of DVD watching, talking books, (not too many comedy episodes). Recommend manicure/pedicure, hair doo, hand/foot/shoulder massage. Lot's of therapists are allowed into hospitals nowadays.
good luck I love you B4p

Her doctor has said that if she holds on until Christmas the babies will be tiny, but have a good fighting chance. She is on complete rest and being closely monitored.

I have everything crossed.

Crikey! Let's hope those little fella know what is good for them and stay exactly where they are!

Thanks ladies !

The boys are in hospital still and will be for quite some time, but my daughter is recovering well. It helps because I had c sections with my girls and so I have been able to understand how she feels and offer plenty of help.

Boys are called Elijah and Jude. Both small but perfectly formed Smile

Tomps so pleased to hear your grandsons have been safely delivered and hope they are progressing well and that your daughter is coping.

My grandson was born 9th January, weighing in at 7lb.4oz a week early, also by emergency c.section - after a few hours labour his heartbeat kept dropping everytime daughter pushed, it turned out the cord was wrapped around his head and neck. We flew out and spent two weeks with them and he is lovely, very hard to leave though but will get used to being skype grandparents in time.

Not sure yet how long engagement is yet! They did look at a castle
that had had a cancellation for August! Awww need save pennies & stop
eating! I am amazed the cost of a wedding! Think they have agreed alate
ceremony & a hot buffet?
I half suggested marque in garden & hog roast & my son said wow good
dea awwww..

What is the average wedding cost now?

Shocked

Wow £20:000! guess if remove honeymoon £4:500 about £15:000
couldn't see if this figure included a sit down meal and then a buffet
on night! Think my son & his fiancee ooh love to say that! would do without
a video/dvd!

My dad used to tell my boyfriends there was a long ladder in the shed
& it wasn't that far to Scotland! 3 daughters very expensive he said!

Congratulations Chris Very Happy How lovely that you went over for a couple of weeks, and I'm sure it was hard to say goodbye. What is your grandson called ?

My grandsons are still in hospital and I have yet to meet them. They are 3 weeks old tomorrow. Currently spending part of every day out of their incubators and both have put on weight.

Sax ... my daughter is engaged and getting married in December. Luckily for me she wants a small wedding as I may have to take a new mortgage out otherwise. She is getting married in the Olde Inn in our village, so no need for wedding cars, that saved £600. when I told them it was less than a mile .... still £600 What a Face

Thanks Tomps Very Happy

They have named him Liam. They had a short list of names which they both liked and so daughter let her OH have the deciding vote Very Happy

Sorry you havent met your grandsons yet but hopefully not too long before that happens, bet you cant wait. Great news that they are spending time out of the incubators and the fact they are putting on weight is all to the good.

Chris- re wedding costs :another top tip for keeping the price down is getting married midweek if possible. A friend of mine did that last year and the venue was half the price. Of course that's only possible if you've got people who can take time off work easily, but it's something to consider.
I love the idea of a hog roast! My friend did that too, with salads etc on tables as accompaniment- she was on a tight budget and it worked really well. After all, it's not all the glitz and extras that make a wedding special, it's sharing the occasion with your loved ones.
Weddings are BIG business and it's easy to get sucked into all sorts of things that aren't needed! What's all this these days about video diaries (a la big brother I presume) for guests and everything else. Think I will stop now as sounding very old- In my day all we had was......!!! affraid

I'm sure it will be a lovely occasion whatever is decided!

Liam is a lovely name Chris ... living in Ireland I know a few of them !

Boys have finally been transferred to our local hospital, so no more 80 mile round trip every day. Best news is that grandparents are allowed to visit for an hour every evening Very Happy They are so tiny, so I dread to think of what they were like 3.5 weeks ago when they were born.

My daughter is driving again so she can now come and go as she pleases. Just can't wait for them to come home, but they have to get an established feeding pattern from a bottle first. I would say it will be another few weeks yet.
