Re: SCD 2014 Main & Result Show
Yes but your way would never be accepted as it totally negates the phone vote and we could never have that could we? Well I would have that but sadly it will never happen. I would sooner just leave it to the judges but will never happen.
Re: SCD 2014 Main & Result Show
I don't think we are totally surprised at a "shock" dance off, it was bound to happen around now. However, I must say I am surprised that Scott avoided the dance off, he must have a large fan base, which is odd as I don't think the Radio1 bosses would put Strictly within their demograph but they clearly are voting. I don't mind his radio show, but he has come across as a really unpleasant man on Strictly and i don't find him amusing or humble or self deprecating as opposed to Judy who I am warming to. (She should have scored more than Scott too).
My niece used to organise all the graduate balls at a uni and they had Scott as DJ once- she also said he was a nasty piece of work then too.

Not really. Because if either of the bottom two of the leaderboard had more public vote, they will not be in the dance-off.
So say Scott is REALLY popular with the public, and for two weeks in the row he's received higher votes than the second last of the leaderboard, then he'll NOT be at the dance-off, while the other one at the bottom two of the leaderboard with lower popular vote would automatically be there. The public still has a say, but it's more structured that way and avoids 'shock' dance-off scenario.
Then again, perhaps the whole idea is that there's always going to be a shock-exit at some point of the show, it's just part of the Strictly features...

Re: SCD 2014 Main & Result Show
Ok every year I play the odds/evens game! From the SCD title graphivs I see which couple represents odd/even number in the line up. This year all odd He is. And we obey him. have left the show this year! Does this mean an even number is due?

I reckon we should start a Scott fan club. Sing his praises on here, claim he's an ace dancer and cheer him on. That should pretty much see him voted out next week.

Scott has said how he wanted to get through to Halloween, so tonight after he has danced will he start pulling a *cr*aig I want to get to Blackpool* card which I believe is the 15th Nov

It's almost inevitable if he gets through tonight.

I'm choosing to ignore Scott & Joanne altogether. Honest-to-god I don't even know what dance they're doing this week.

I hope Scott is like C.raig Kelly, he wanted to go to Blackpool because, well just because he was born there or something. The public granted his wish and on that night at Blackpool poof he's gone.

I'll be a little more direct Sid and say, "Will Scott Lobsterman please report to the departure lounge. You may call at Duty Free to purchase a miniature glitter-ball for £25, and a signed photograph of your dance partner for only £50. You will then be escorted to your plane by the Gordon Highlanders playing "Will ye no come back again" on the bagpipes and drums."
The other Scot has tried hard to dance and shown some improvement for it. I think she should stay at the expense of Alison who, due to her size, I feel has reached her limits. Lovely person, but then, so am I and they won't give me a glitterball. After that (hopefully) the serious dancing should start ( yeah, I know)

You're very generous Mr T, I wouldn't let him stop off at Duty Free! Let's just hope his plane isn't delayed by another week...
Agree about Judy. She's progressed somewhat whereas Alison has not.

Re: SCD 2014 Main & Result Show
Hmm I must say any progress Judy has made is very slight but hopefully it will continue. I agree about Allyson but it would seem her bubbly nature and zest she puts into her dance may carry her further than perhaps her dance skills merit but as we know this isn't a dance contest. This week I just wonder how many faux pas we will clearly see in Scott's dance yet he will be saved. Go on CRH get your one paddle out (oo'er missus that sounds like a line from those wonderful Carry On films).
Re: SCD 2014 Main & Result Show
I fear for the roll the "VT" & Scott says"Oh Id love to feel the atmostphere of the dancefloor at Blackpool! Cue voters to ship him again to Blackpool. No give him a 'kiss me quick hat and stick of rock! Say bye bye Scott. Its heartbreaking to think he could carry on for three weeks

Also cue another pathetic dance followed by fair criticism from C.raig followed by boos and Scott covering his ears and putting on that put upon look with audience booing C.raig.

That's exactly the sort of thing that will propel him out Mr T ! That or indifference and non- controversial judges comments - it has worked before.
Bit miffed as 'other half' has won the day and we are watching the F1 US Grand Prix qualifying live and I will be watching SCD in slight delay tonight!!! GRR - but at least I won't be too far behind and I can fast forward over the yucky fillers - I'll bet they'll be some 'kooky' ones tonight, given the theme.
I'll have to watch the results show on the computer tomorrow night! Must watch it live and won't be able to as the F1 race will be on. I love F1 by the way, but don't like it when it clashes with SCD!!! Which doesn't happen often, only in the last bit of the season and when you have races on the other side of the Atlantic - (Interlagos and now USA).
Looking forward to tonight - not a great one for the Hallowe'en Special but it will be interesting to see who copes with their music and who does not. I'm resigned to the fact that the 'visual entertainment' will win out tonight, even if the dancing isn't terribly good - but I will be voting like mad for Sunetra and will throw one Steve's way as well.

Re: SCD 2014 Main & Result Show
My one-sentence review.
Firstly, I hated theme week. Halloween, all pomp and no substance. Many, many mediocre, forgettable dances, strocious music choices on the whole, with perhaps the saving graces in the last two dances (Mark's jive and Frankie's Tango).
Anyway these are the comments and scores (I scored the dance before the judges revealed theirs)
1. Sunetra and Brendan's Jive - A little too 'polite' and soft feet, but good rhythm. 6
2. Alison & Alijaz's American Smooth - Okay out of hold, but bad posture in-hold. 6
3. Simon & Kristina's Paso Doble - Odd transitions, erratic moments of good shapes. 6.5
4. Steve & O.la's Charleston - Messed up a lot of steps, lifts looked laboured. 5.5
5. Pixie & Trent's Tango - Sharp but slight gapping in-hold. 7.5
6. Judy & A.nton's American - Smooth it certainly is NOT. 5
7. Jake & Janette's Paso Doble - Lacks shaping and a little skippy and stompy. 6.5
8. Caroline & Pasha's Samba - Too much disco in the mix. 7
9. Scott & Joanne's Foxtrot - Played to his 'strengths', which is stiff. 5
10. Mark & Karen's Jive - Sharp, pointed kicks and flicks with high energy. 8
11. Frankie & Kevin's Tango - Topline much improved, very sharp, terrible music. 8.5

Re: SCD 2014 Main & Result Show
Im really suprised about Steve's candid report about O'la's bullying ! Apparently now they have a chaperone when they are together!? Steve advises put a vest on you strumpet has been harrasing him and negative remarks about his performance This is beginning to sound like a soap drama. I know O.la has looked peaky and not as bubbly as late however it could be pressure re James not being in SCD anymore?
An insider from SCD claims O.la cold and indifferent and refused to meet Steve's family and friends! Also he has to ask other people if he doesn't understand what O.la means re technique etc as she lashes out at him! Ive not heard any other of her partners to complain about her before A taskmaster yes but Bully? Has Steve shot himself in the foot??

Gosh I've no idea what to make of it all. The story's in the Mail which isn't the most reliable of sources! Will be interesting to see what Steve & put a vest on you strumpet's body language is like tonight...

Re: SCD 2014 Main & Result Show
Two things can happen: The dance can suffer and we see the end of Steve, or the Twitterati campaign for him and O la gets the daggers. Bit of a daft scenario that even the Sun and Daily Mail between then couldn't better. Hope she's not doing the "Do you know who I am" routine. If so, I'd be tempted to tell her...but I might be jumping guns here. Might all be a load of Borax. We'll soon find out I suppose....
